A study performed by Florent Ubelmann and Claúdia Almeida, from the Neuronal Trafficking in Aging Lab, identified and characterized a new molecular pathway by which Alzheimer's disease (AD) progresses in the brain. In this study, the researchers found that 2 new molecules, Bin1 and CD2AP, control the generation of beta-amyloid (Aβ) in neurons leading to AD.
Article is entitled "Bin1 and CD2AP polarise beta-amyloid endocytic generation of beta-amyloid." (full article here).
