The exhibition "A Visit to the History of Diabetes" was inaugurated today at NOVA Medical School, as part of the celebration of 100 Years of the Discovery of Insulin.
The exhibition begins in the year 1550 BC but focuses mainly on the centenary beginning in 1921, the year in which insulin was isolated. This achievement earned the Nobel Prize for Medicine researchers Frederick Banting and John MacLeod, not without some controversy for the lack of recognition of James Collip and Charles Best.
