EPHAR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS 2014

The CEDOC researcher, Maria João Ribeiro, a PhD student from Sílvia Conde’s Lab, Carotid Body & Metabolism: from Molecules to Systems, received the EPHAR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS 2014, for her paper "Carotid body denervation prevents the development of insulin resistance and hypertension induced by hypercaloric diets” (Diabetes, 2013: 62(8):2905–2916).

It is the first time that this award was attributed to a Portuguese researcher. The EPHAR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS is a prize from the Federation of European Pharmacological Societies to distinguish the author of the best scientific article published in the area of pharmacology.
