Patient Innovation wins the World Summit Award in the category “Health and Well Being”

Patient Innovation, a non-profit, international, multilingual, free venue for patients and caregivers of any disease to share their innovations, was won the World Summit Award (WSA), in the category “Health and Well Being”, in Portugal. The project will now move forward in the world-wide competition, which will select the WSA-Global Champions, in an event to happen in 2019.

With its headquarters at CEDOC, Patient Innovation is a platform created for patients and those who care about them to share and access useful solutions to cope with their diseases. Products, services and applications are reviewed by a medical team before they are published and displayed on the platform. It already counts with over 1.500 solutions and a community of 60.000 users, in 5 continents. Previously, Patient Innovation had been one of five projects worldwide recognized by former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Please find their youtube channel by follwing the link.

The WSA are aimed at selecting and promoting digital innovations with positive impact. Projects from 178 countries were considered in 8 categories, corresponding to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Last year, Portugal won the Global Champions, in the category Governance & Citizen Engagement, with City Points Cascais, and placed in the 5 best worldwide in the Culture & Tourism category, with SnapCity.

Meanwhile, the winners of WSA Portugal are given the chance to be present at the 28º Digital Business Congress, to happen at CCB in the 26th and 27th September.
