The strategy that NOVA has build for the area of Health and Medicine, resulted in the increase in approximately 300 positions in this area, according to the results of the Times Higher Education Ranking By Subject 2021.
At the global level, this excellent result reaffirms NOVA's leadership position at a national and international level.
NOVA stands out for being the only University in the country with three schools in the area of Health and Medicine: NOVA Medical School (NMS), the National School of Public Health (ENSP) and the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT). It is important to highlight that the increase in the ranking is related to an extraordinary performance in terms of citations (74.8) generated by the volume of publications.
In three areas assessed - Education, Economics and Management, and Health and Medicine, NOVA is in the Top 10 among young European universities founded less than 50 years ago.
